I recommend filling the tub in advance of your birth and using it often so your body will recognize it as your place of "relaxation" when you enter it during labor. The water may be left in the tub and treated with the chemicals provided to keep it clean until labor commences. At that time the tub should be drained with provided drain pump and filled with fresh, untreated tap water for the remainder of the labor and birth.
